Naim Q. Singleton has had a hand in managing and developing promising musical talent since he first co-founded Maja League in Harrisburg, Pa where he spent much of his youth, alongside other Harrisburg locals Candyman, LeRon “Dutch” McCoy and Derrick Pledgers. This first initial venture gave Singleton the privilege of managing some of the best talent in Central Pennsylvania and to get his hands into several projects, including an internationally acclaimed compilation of some of Pennsylvania’s best artists.
Singleton’s next major collaboration was with Baltimore native Darrick “D.A.” Holland, who met Singleton while they both were stationed in South Korea while serving in the United States Air Force. The duo bonded over their agreement about the lack of fresh, original ideas being produced by the entertainment industry today. Together they founded the company that would eventually become known as R.E.A.L. Entertainment, which stands for Reality in Every Aspect of Life. Becoming much more than a simple record label, R.E.A.L. Entertainment and it’s staff are dedicating towards their goal of being a leading force in originality, both in their events and music production.
Keeping a watchful eye on changes in the entertainment community, Singleton embraced online media as an excellent outlet for original ideas in the world of entertainment, by bypassing the status quo that keeps things stagnant. He expanded his empire into two major new online brands, Beenreal.com, an online magazine focusing on women interested in fashion, entertainment and upscale lifestyles, allowing his readers to engage in fashion and social awareness, and with talkofthestreets.com, which focuses specifically on helping independent artists find exposure they have been denied by mainstream outlets and help them expand their fan base. Singleton paired the site with a Talk of the Streets DVD which showcases various up and coming independent artists from around the world.
